UCFIC Services & Programs

These services offer opportunities for learning and finding ways to manage the stress of parenthood. Through our 8 pillars of wellness, we offer support in 8 key areas, including Spiritual, Financial, and Physical, the initiative provides structured community workshops that cover essential aspects of fatherhood. The workshops focus on helping prepare young Black and Latino men for fatherhood through mentorship and services that encourage healthy family dynamics and improve communication skills. Key themes include, “fatherhood responsibilities, self-care, self efficacy, and enhancing relationships with their children, family and community.”

Engaging dialogue amongst fathers to support, encourage and develop skills to Elevate their families and the community at large.

Family Care: A federal and state-funded health insurance program created to help qualified New Jersey residents of any age access affordable health insurance. NJ Family Care is for people who do not have employer insurance.

NJ Childcare: New Jersey offers free preschool for 3-5 year old children in many Union County towns including Elizabeth, Hillside, Linden, Plainfield, Rahway, and Roselle.

Embracing Parenthood and Supporting Families: The NJ Healthy Families TIP Program is a home visitation program that offers real-life parenting support with a hands-on approach. Trained family specialists meet you at home or a place convenient to you to support you in your role as a parent

NJ SNAP: New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, NJ SNAP, provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help them buy groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources. You can use SNAP benefits to stretch your food budget and buy nutritious foods that can keep you and your family healthy.

Child Support: It’s more than just money. Regardless of their living situation or relationship, both parents should provide the financial, medical and emotional support a child needs to grow into a responsible adult. New Jersey’s Child Support Program can help.
