Super Bowl Champion | NFL Pro Bowler | Giants Assistant Coach
(to be confirmed)
Bryan Cox, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler, brings an extraordinary legacy of excellence, leadership, and resilience both on and off the field. Currently serving as the New York Giants’ Assistant Defensive Line Coach, Cox is in his third season with the team, working alongside Andre Patterson to mentor the Giants’ defensive front.
Under Cox’s guidance, standout defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has risen to elite status, earning back-to-back Pro Bowl selections and second-team All-Pro honors. In 2022, Lawrence achieved career highs with 68 tackles and a team-leading 7.5 sacks, followed by another stellar season in 2023 with 53 tackles, 21 quarterback hits, and 4.5 sacks.
Cox’s coaching career spans nearly two decades with five NFL teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and New York Jets. During his tenure with the Falcons, he helped lead the team to the 2016 NFC Championship and an appearance in Super Bowl LI. While coaching the Buccaneers’ defensive front (2012-13), he helped players like Gerald McCoy achieve career-best performances, including McCoy’s first Pro Bowl selection.
Beyond his impressive career, Cox is a dedicated father who remains actively involved in the lives of both his adult children and his teenager. As the keynote speaker for the UCFIC 13th Annual Conference, he will speak directly to young fathers about the importance of being present for their children—emotionally, mentally, and physically. Drawing from his personal experiences as a father and mentor, Cox will share insights on balancing career demands while prioritizing family, inspiring fathers to build lasting bonds with their children.
Before stepping into coaching, Cox enjoyed an illustrious 12-year NFL career as a linebacker, playing for the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, New York Jets, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints. Drafted by the Dolphins in 1991, he earned Pro Bowl honors in 1992, 1994, and 1995. He capped his playing career with a Super Bowl victory as a member of the 2001 New England Patriots.
Cox appeared in 165 regular-season games, amassing 938 tackles, 51.5 sacks, 14 fumble recoveries, and four interceptions. He also competed in 10 postseason games, including Super Bowl XXXVI.
A graduate of Western Illinois University with a degree in mass communications, Cox remains committed to empowering the next generation. A native of East St. Louis, Illinois, he and his wife, Kim, are proud parents of five children.
