UCFIC Hosts Successful 14th Annual Fatherhood Conference, Empowering Over 125 Fathers Across Union County
Union County, NJ — The Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition (UCFIC) proudly announces the success of its 14th Annual Fatherhood Conference, which brought together over 150 fathers, community leaders, and partners for a powerful day of connection, learning, and empowerment.
The conference featured a keynote address from New Jersey Lt. Governor Dr. Dale G. Caldwell, who delivered an inspiring message on fatherhood, leadership, and the importance of investing in men as a pathway to stronger families and communities. His remarks emphasized the critical role fathers play in shaping the next generation and highlighted the need for continued support systems and opportunities for growth.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged in a series of impactful breakout sessions led by thought leaders and professionals across key areas of wellness. Workshops covered topics including physical, emotional, and spiritual health, as well as job readiness, career development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and building generational wealth. These sessions provided fathers with practical tools and real-world strategies they can apply in their everyday lives.
A highlight of the conference was the DadTalk roundtable discussion, where fathers participated in open, honest conversations about the realities of fatherhood, identity, and personal growth. This session reinforced the importance of creating safe spaces where men can share experiences, build connections, and support one another.
“The energy in the room was powerful,” said Chairman Rod Spearman. “This conference is about more than just a single day, it’s about equipping fathers with real tools, real support, and real opportunities to grow. When we invest in fathers, we strengthen families and build healthier communities. Seeing over 150 men come together committed to growth and leadership shows that this work is not only needed but also making an impact.”
The conference reflects UCFIC’s ongoing commitment to its 8 Pillars of Wellness, addressing the full spectrum of a father’s well-being, from mental and physical health to financial stability and family engagement. By bringing together fathers of all backgrounds, particularly young fathers of color, UCFIC continues to create spaces where men are empowered to lead, grow, and thrive.
